Miguel grew up on the east side of Vancouver, and people are surprised to hear he almost went into welding before a friend handed him a pair of clippers. Open, easygoing and precise with shears and a razor, he plays guitar on his days off and is saving for his first motorcycle to ride the Columbia River Gorge.

Fernando knew early on that he wanted a creative trade, and barbering turned out to be it. After barber school and four years of fast-paced work in walk-in shops around Portland, he was ready for the next level. At Chico's he found the chair he'd been looking for — and a shop that expects a clean line every single time.

Irving spent a year running the front desk of a barbershop before deciding he'd rather be behind the chair. He learned the trade from the ground up, studied logistics at Clark College, dreams of growing his hair out and summiting Mount Hood, and loves that in this profession there's no ceiling.

Godfrey came to barbering through skin fades — first on his cousins in a garage, then in barber school. He's the one clients bring their toughest reference photos to, and he'd rather take ten extra minutes than leave a fade uneven. Off the clock he's a Blazers fan and unbeatable at the grill.

Daniel started cutting his friends' hair in high school in Camas and never really stopped. Calm, quiet and obsessed with details, he's happiest with a sharp line-up and a client who says "do your thing." Weekends are for fishing on the Washougal.

Raul — Chico to everyone — fell in love with cutting hair before he ever had a license. He went through barber school in Portland with the help of a WorkSource training grant and spent his Fridays giving free haircuts to people in need through 4D Recovery while he perfected his craft. When COVID hit, he opened his own shop across the street from the WorkSource office. Today he runs Chico's and takes on apprentices through WorkSource and NEXT.
